EXM #13, wasn’t bad, but I also didn’t find it that great. It was just kinda . . . there. As with most of the series. I’m nervous at Storm going with Illyana to search for Sapna, because Lemire does not write a good Storm. I am looking forward to this Illyana/Sapna arc, though.
Wolverine Annual is just wonderful. Lots of fun. Gwen stabbing herself in the head is hilarious. I love Red Hornet, and I love seeing Logan’s murder of a random superhero in Enemy of the State get called back to. I hope she sticks around, because she seems really cool. A fun mad scientist type who’s nice but doesn’t necessarily think things through fully. And I have to give a lot of praise to Takara, who really does do an excellent job with body language, making Gwen-as-Laura and Laura-as-Gwen distinct.
X-Men ’92 has Death’s Head. Death’s Head is awesome. He’s actually had quite the renaissance lately: He showed up in Gillen’s Iron Man run, he was in an Annual crossover a couple years ago, between UXM, ANXM and Nova, and there was a Revolutionary War event full of Marvel UK characters. I just love Death’s Head. A fun note: Lila mentions touring with Nightcat. Nightcat was similar to Dazzler, in that she was a cross-media thing, as the comic tied into a CD. Unlike Dazzler, they were successful in getting a CD out. But the fact that no one has ever actually heard of her should tell you how successful that effort was. (I still find this comic relies entirely too focused on making references.)
Deadpool v. Gambit is well-written. I will say that my fanboy side is bothered by making Scrambler a nice guy. I don’t buy it. (Or, rather, I don’t want to buy it.) Plus, his power is altered in some huge ways. So, yeah, my inner fanboy is objecting. But, the story is really well-written, really interesting and very nicely emotional. It’s a good comic.
That pillow fort nightclub idea is brilliant.
Ok, so I’m trying to figure out if:
A) I dropped acid without realizing it and screwed up my travel plans
B) You’re projecting information from another year
or
C) RCCC is actually on the 10th and 11th.
Just checking. Because if I dropped acid, I’d really like to know about it.
Right, 10th and 11th!
Whew! 🙂
