Would just like to point out that the “Storm and Wolverine in Tokyo” bit in WatXM was done by Chris Brunner and Rico Renzi, not Robbie Rodriguez (whose art is also stunning.) Chris Brunner posted a bit of the creative process here ( http://kickstandkids.blogspot.com/2014/10/in-town-with-few-days-to-kill.html ) and it’s a really really fascinating read!
Wow! The Sabertooth book art was very gutteral and I agree that the art needed a better focus. Now, Adam X the “Extreme”? Stand back ladies, that one is taken!
Can’t wait for you to get to the B.S. New Mutants run!
Four thoughts:
1) Loved the Spurrier Axis story. Really hilarious.
2) Also loved the Wolverine & Storm in Japan art. Anyone who hasn’t seen it should do so immediately.
3) The Quintin Quire stuff would have worked better for me if he wasn’t prominently involved in Axis. I have to agree with your previous statement that characters should only appear in one place at a time. None of the Uncanny Avengers stuff has fit in well with the stuff going on in the other Avengers titles or the X-titles and it’s really a detriment to the story.
4) Believe it or not, Deadpool has been really solid since Duggan and Posehn took over. It starts off funny but eventually brings in a lot of pathos. And it’s pretty self-contained as well. People should be reading it. Even if it’s not an X-Man.
