Fun fact about the two formats: At the time, Marvel had decided to release two formats as an “experiment” to let fans choose their preferred format. However, the “Deluxe” format went to the direct market while the cheaper “Standard” format went to newsstands, two weeks later. Obviously, most people buying comics at the time didn’t want to wait for two weeks to get the latest adventures so the Deluxe format one, signaling the end of newsprint comics and ushering in the new, higher price point.
