I wonder if this is supposed to be kind of a panorama/360 perspective, so that the POV is actually a point 7′ directly above the two blonde babies (kind of like how drawing shadows gets ten times more difficult if you disregard the classical rule of never having your light source in the frame). Still doesn’t quite work, though, likely because he simplified the technique into splitting the scene into two zones with averaged perspectives rather than sitting down and charting out the angles in cross section.
