  1. “Wow, you liked that a lot more than I did: The Miles Stokes story”

I guess if I could sum up how I feel about Uncanny vs. Extraordinary these days, it’s that Uncanny feels like it’s building towards something, while Extraordinary feels like it’s floundering.

I do hope that a united X-Men family comes from CW2X somehow – while I’ve liked many of the developments in the line post-Schism, I have grown tired of the divided family. It seemed arbitrary when it was Cyclops vs. Wolverine, and it remains that way to me when it’s Magneto vs. Storm.

I admire your professionalism and dedication in the face of recent events. Thank you.

  2. CWII X-Men was good. It was a good introduction to the characters and conflict. And Nightcrawler was written well – cheerful and flirty.

UXM was really good. I’m loving the Monet story. But I loved the Psylocke/Fantomex fight. It’s a great example of how to do a comic book fight. The dialogue all contributes to either character or plot, and the action is exciting and brutal. It’s a phenomenal fight. (Also, I agree with Emplate villain being a guilty pleasure villain. He’s kind of a dumb idea, but Generation X was a great series.)

ANXM was great. Really strong Apocalypse stuff, making En Sabah really sympathetic, and making Evan’s struggle more poignant. Also, Erika of Amnisos, the Fury of the Whole Damned Nile, was really fun. I liked her.

  3. Jay and especially Miles, thank you for expressing/mirroring/echoing some of my feelings about Greg Fucking Land and his regrettably ongoing presence in the X-books.

  4. Hey Guys

    Really digging your stuff 🙂

Just a thought, When you were talking about Genocide, I think this Genocide is the one from Remenders Uncanny X-Force run, he blew up that town and created Tabula Rosa and probably this realities version of AOA Holocaust. Let me know if I could be wrong. Keep up the fab work

  5. All the best, Jay and Miles. It is very tough to be away from Florida right now and there are times when I debated whether or not to drive down on multiple occasions this week to do something to help. I’m sure you’ve had the same feelings. I hope you and yours are safe and I wish for better days ahead.

  6. As my go to authority on everything X-Men, I have a lingering question for the both of you.

Are we ever going to find out what happened in the “8 month gap” between Uncanny X-Men #600 and All New, All Different Marvel?

Miles mentioned that some of what happened was referenced in CW2X #1, but I need to know, (as well as most X-fans) exactly what happened after the big rally in the nation’s capital.

How long do you think Marvel will hold out before letting us all in on the events of the missing 8 months?

Thanks, & keep the Xplaining great!!

    1. My guess would be ‘never’. They will probably reveal What Cyclops Did Last Summer With The Noodles, Pineapple and the Inhumans, but other than that I doubt any of the writers will be interested in doing flashbacks. It just doesn’t seem to be important to the current story. Not to any of them.

Also, isn’t it 16 months? The x-books never did the ‘8 months later’ before Secret Wars. Well, Magneto had a ‘Last Days’ tie-in, but that was the exception. So all that stuff that Hickman hinted at in his books – the X-Nation, Beast working with Cyclops again, Cyclops hatching a Phoenix Egg – none of it made it into x-books.

The 8-month gap after Secret Wars is the second 8-month gap in a row. There’s over a year of stuff nobody will ever mention again.

  7. I’m glad I’m not the only one who has no idea what’s going on in Uncanny. Totally lost.
