Week of August 19, 2015
In which it’s a pretty good week across the board; Dennis Hopeless is the wind beneath our wings; X-Men ’92 is the wind beneath our jetpacks; and we have somehow made fifty of these.

Perhaps a commercial airline momentarily roared through the Murder Basement for a fraction a second before disappearing again? Maybe Castle Sexy Dracula is somehow connected with the Excalibur lighthouse?
I was also pleasantly surprised by House of M, having no string feelings either way about the original story arc. Hopeless’ work on it and Inferno are making me more and more excited for All-New X-Men this fall.
A big truck drove by my apartment as soon as that jet engine warning appeared. I was so confused when the pause button didn’t make the noise stop.
You’re getting into some serious William Castle territory there, my friend.
Wasn’t it.. one hundred and eleventy one?
Also, the thing about X-Tinction Agenda is that I like it, and I want to like it a lot more, but it really feels like a lot of the emotional resonance is lost on me for not knowing anything about the story it’s sourced from – or a lot of the side characters I have no idea about.
X-Men ’92 was incredible though. I’m feeling like outraged “I was right?!” would make a MUCH better t-shirt than “Cyclops was right” only it wouldn’t make much sense out of context…though perhaps it’d be doubly hilarious of of context.
I’m conflicted.
Bilbo’s birthday was number “eleventy-one,” as I recall. Which I think makes 110 “eleventy.”
Is it too early to call Secret Wars the best giant, bloated line-wide crossover event of all time? Almost everything I’ve read has been above average or better and I’ve been reading a lot.
It’s unsettlingly good, isn’t it? I still have no idea what to do with that.
unsettlingly!
I’d like to point out that your panel of the week may have some competition from panel 6 of Monday’s Bad Machinery. John Allison should totally write a whimsical X-book for Secret Wars…

When Miles said he didn’t really like the original House of M
I immediately said in my best Miles voice “WHAAAAAT!!”
